As a young boy, Jason’s favourite thing to do was to pull apart electrical products and put them back together again. In fact, a type of toy that was quite popular back in the 80’s was a hobby-style toy requiring assemblage with the correct wiring and enjoying watching it come to life. But when Jason was asked by family and friends what he wanted to be when he grew up he always said, “I want to be a Dentist.”

When I met Jason he was studying Science at university. By then, one of his favourite things to do was to build computers with his best mate. I found Jason to be so knowledgeable in all things technology and witnessed the amazing dexterity of his hands when he was able to help his mate out, despite it being their joint hobby, that I wondered if he would ever consider a career in  I.T. Often I asked him if he would take that turn but he maintained firmly that he was going to be a Dentist so he could make lots of money and buy lots of “sweet cars”.

When Jason and I went past the point of being just mates – dating, getting engaged and deciding to get married – we moved from Cairns to Brisbane. This meant that Jason had to transfer across universities and, due to academia red tape, once we were in Brisbane he had to transfer across universities AGAIN.  Time was slipping by and Jason began to lose interest in his studies. But what else to do? He had always wanted to become a Dentist.

Jason made the very big decision to pursue a career in the automotive industry, though he did not know what that would mean for him.

Jason started off working for Ford selling cars. He did this for about 6 months before he realised that selling cars was no fun at all. Neither was wearing long-sleeved shirts and ridiculous ties!  He was hit with a bout of inspiration: he would go on a resume-dropping trek out into the Auto Electrical field.

Jason has never looked back. And I have never seen Jason happier. Combining his favourite things and turning them into a career for himself? It’s the dream, right.

After completing his apprenticeship, Jason landed the role of Workshop Foreman. He dedicated himself to the role for about 12 months, delving in both the auto electrical and https://www.exactautoelectrics.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Australian-travelers-1.jpgistration part of the business.

One day Jason realised that it was time to spread his wings and take a leap of faith. He would set up his own business and hopefully create a legacy of his own. In 2012, he did just that. Partnering up with his wife (that’s me), who had just completed her studies in Business, Jason launched his own auto electrical mobile business, servicing workshops and individual customers alike.
